We’re offering young women aged 16-25 the opportunity to develop their artistic skills on our five day Both Sides Now residency – She Creates – in partnership with Z-arts this May.
During the week, you’ll get an overview of everything it takes to be an artist and move forward with your own music, learning from inspirational women who will lead masterclasses in songwriting, music production, DJ skills, music industry insights, and studio engineering.
What to expect
The week will focus on the creation of brand new material, inspired by a series of masterclasses that will explore different elements of the creative process:
Tue 28 May – Songwriting – Led by Charlotte Barber
Wed 29 May – Production – Led by Poppy Roberts
Thu 30 May – Studio Recording – Led by Helen K
Fri 31 May – Mixing & Mastering – Led by Sara De Clara
The days will be split into two slots to accommodate for beginner and advanced level musicians. The beginner sessions will take place between 1.30-4.30pm, followed by the advanced sessions between 5.30-8.30pm.
Then on Sat 1 Jun (12-5pm) there will be a Music Industry Insights day for all participants, featuring a lineup of industry professionals who will touch base on how to release your music, build a following and engage a fanbase. This will be followed by a Listening Party and mixer event to play back the material that’s been created during the week.
