Calling all live music lovers! Missing gigs? Want to take part in a collaborative project with other music fans around the world? Freelance photographer Abbie Jennings needs your help…
My name is Abbie, I’m a music photographer and I’m working with Brighter Sound on a project to reconnect live music fans. The project aims to celebrate the whole live music experience through a collaborative video that anyone, anywhere in the world, can get involved with.
This is an opportunity for you to share your memories, thoughts and opinions about how live music really does impact your life. So if you’re missing live music and want to get involved, there are two ways to contribute…
We want to hear your stories! I’ve put together a series of questions (see below), alongside my own photographs, to help get you thinking. However, anything you want to share is welcome, so long as it relates to live music in some way! You don’t need to answer all of the questions, just as many as you feel you can relate to. Please send your responses in the form of voice notes, we want to hear real voices and passion towards the topic.
Images / videos
You can also submit by sending in images and videos of your favourite live music experiences. These don’t need to be professional, we’re looking for the snapshots you’ve taken on your phone, the ones you probably never looked at again! This is your chance to get them seen and contribute to a collaborative collage of memories, so if you have a spare ten minutes please have a browse through your phone and see what memories you’d like to share.
How to submit
Submissions can be made via WhatsApp (07947483761), or by emailing email@example.com. Deadline Sun 21 Feb.
Please don’t forget to leave your name and location, or if you want to remain anonymous just state this in your submission. Everyone who submits will be credited in the final piece (if you’d like to be).
Please note, the mobile number and email address have been set up solely for this project and will be disconnected afterwards. Your personal details will not be saved or used in any way.
Finally, if you would like to join a community of other live music fans, we have set up a Facebook group here.
This project is made possible by support from the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.
