On 8th March (International Women’s Day 2022) we came together with hundreds of artists, music industry professionals and music fans to launch our bold new Manifesto for Gender Equality in Music.

Created as part of our Both Sides Now programme, the All Things Equal Manifesto launched at a special event at Depot Mayfield in Manchester. Co-produced with Submerge, the night also featured the world premiere of a large-scale and immersive audiovisual installation by Urban Projections (Rebecca Smith) with custom soundtrack by “genre-splicing genius of British electronic music” Loraine James, and spoken word by Princess Arinola Adegbite.

We’d like to thank everyone who joined us in-person (and in spirit). There was such a special energy throughout the whole night, we’re still getting over it to be honest!

The Manifesto is now available to read or listen to now. And the work doesn’t stop here. If you want to be part of the change please sign our open letter to the Government

If you’re an organisation, company or individual who wants to make commitments based on the recommendations in the manifesto please get in touch or share your pledges on social media using the hashtag #AllThingsEqual.

Once again, a big thank you to everyone who made this event possible, from the speakers, to the team behind the amazing installation, to everyone who cut shapes and grooved to our incredible DJ’s!
