Meet the artists joining us for Electric Storm, the latest residency as part of our Both Sides Now gender equality programme…
Over 5 days, the group worked together to create a bold new audio visual work inspired by electronic music pioneer Delia Derbyshire and the 1969 album ‘An Electric Storm’ by White Noise, of which Delia was a key member.
Thanks to our partners Delia Derbyshire Day, the artists were given access to the Delia Derbyshire Archive held at The John Rylands Library and work alongside Bishi, Caro C and Andrea Pazos at Spirit Studios to create their own ‘Electric Storm’. Their new work premiered on Fri 24 Jan at an exclusive sharing at Spirit Studios.
You can catch them in Leeds on Mon 9 Mar as part of Leeds College of Music’s Sounds Like THIS Festival. Tickets to the performance can be bought here.
The group features a mixture of music creators, sound designers and digital artists including musicians featured on the Glastonbury Emerging Talent long list, a self-taught visual artist and VJ and a Roundhouse resident artist to name a few.
