Alice Nancy

Alice Nancy is an eclectic artist. She fronts raucous Liverpool punk band Last Reserves, made the 2017 Glastonbury Emerging Talent longlist at just 18 years old with her mellow folk project, Neeto, and is now making a name for herself in the Leeds DIY scene with her ominous harsh noise project, Un sacapuntas. Always evolving and pushing her music into new territories, it’s hard to know what Alice will be doing next; she’s definitely one to watch if you like to be kept on your toes.

“I’ve been a bit of a Delia Derbyshire nerd since my cool music tech teacher showed me a book about the Radiophonic Workshop in sixth form, so I’m buzzing to learn more about her work! Also holy guac, I cannot wait to meet some kooky artists and have some fun experimenting and creating work together. I might struggle to keep my cool meeting Bishi, Caro C and Andrea Pazos, but once I stop fangirling I know I’m going to learn so much from just being around them, and that’s something I’m really excited for.”

My absolute favourite band right now are this boss Leeds bunch called Thank; I can’t stop listening to their latest release Please. I always fall deep into an Emilio Pinchi rabbithole whenever he releases something, and his new EP, Absentee is tip top. Other than that I’m really enjoying Katie Mac, AURORA, Louis Cole, Ariel Pink. Drake Bell’s first couple of albums Telegraph and It’s Only Time are also just straight up bangers I’m really into right now – he’s taken them offline but you can still get hold of the CDs if you look hard enough.
