Hayley Suviste

Hayley Suviste is a sound artist and composer based in Manchester. Hayley has recently completed a masters in Electroacoustic Composition at NOVARS sound research-centre (University of Manchester). Her music focuses on the exploration of space, memory and narrative – transforming field recordings, oral histories and archival sounds into immersive compositions. Her output includes long-form multi-channel compositions, interactive soundwalks, installations, site-specific commissions, collaborative performances and works for fixed media & live electronics.

“I’m particularly excited to meet and collaborate with other womxm from around the North West, dedicating a week to creating music inspired by Delia Derbyshire! I’m also looking forward to visiting the archive at The John Rylands Library for inspiration and an invaluable insight into her work.”

I’ve recently discovered Salami Rose Joe Louis who released her ethereal 22-track concept album ‘Zdenka 2080’ on Flying Lotus’ Brain Feeder label last year, which weaves a variety of genres, stories and social criticisms together into a dreamy tapestry of experimental pop.
