Vick Bain

Vick Bain has worked in various sectors of music for twenty-five years. For six years Vick was CEO of the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers & Authors (now known as the Ivors Academy). For her campaigning work Vick was enrolled into the Music Week Women in Music Awards Roll Of Honour 2017 and the BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour Music Industry Powerlist 2018. Vick now works as a consultant in the music industry, whilst researching women’s careers in music, for a PhD at Queen Mary University.

As well as being a Henley Business School MBA graduate, Vick has over 10 years’ experience of board roles having sat on the UK Music board, the UK Music Rights Committee, the UK Music Diversity Taskforce, chaired the UK Music Skills and Education Group, sat on the JAMES (Joint Audio Media in Education) council, the British Copyright Council, the PRS Creator Voice program and served as a trustee of the BASCA Trust.

Vick is also currently a director of the board of the Incorporated Society of Musicians, Parents & Carers in Performing Arts (PiPA) which is an Arts Council Elevate funded organisation, and also a music tech start-up called Delic.
