The BBC Proms Youth Choir is set to perform The Creation at Prom 14 this Monday, following two months of rehearsals in Manchester.

The Creation, Haydn’s colourful oratorio returns to the Proms for the first time in a decade. The BBC Proms Youth Choir, a cohort of young musicians aged 16-25, will join the BBC Philharmonic to perform the composer’s late masterpiece.

From its opening Representation of Chaos, through the creation of stars, seas and storms, a magnificent musical sunrise and of course every animal from whales to eagles and even a worm, The Creation is one of the great musical dramas, teeming with life and detail.

The lineup also features:
Sarah-Jane Brandon (soprano)
Benjamin Hulett (tenor)
Christoph Pohl (baritone)
BBC Philharmonic
Omer Meir Wellber (conductor)

We were delighted to have been chosen by the BBC to help recruit this year’s BBC Proms Youth Choir, who’ve been rehearsing since May led by conductor Grace Rossiter and members of the BBC Singers.

Tickets can be bought here or tune in to BBC Radio 3 here.
