Meet the eight exciting artists selected to take part in the Both Sides Now residency with Fatima Al Qadiri next week at the People’s History Museum.
The eight artists vary in speciality – including sound artists, visual artists, music producers and DJs. We’re thrilled to be bringing such an eclectic mix to work on this exciting cross-artform residency led by composer, producer and conceptual artist Fatima Al Qadiri, developed in collaboration with curator and researcher Amal Khalaf.
The residency will see the group create new music and art, taking inspiration from the People’s History Museum’s new exhibition Represent! Voices 100 Years On, with a focus on femme-ism and resisting through the body.
“The works of the greatest artists in contemporary times are effectively large-scale collaborative works. Glance at the credits of any major album, solo exhibition or film and you’ll see that timelessness is seldom a solo pursuit. The objective of this residency is to work together with artists to leave the self behind and be open to the possibilities that occur when working collaboratively.” – Fatima Al Qadiri
You can book tickets to the showcase performance on Thursday 12 July here.
