James Davis is a pianist/keyboardist and composer who studies Popular Music at the RNCM. The type of music James writes is influenced heavily by artists ranging from Sigur Ros to Massive Attack and Nine Inch Nails. James also does a lot of improvisations and makes accompanying artwork. This stems from his early interest in jazz which he first came to love when he started to learn the saxophone. From here he slowly started to implement it into his piano practice. Last year James played with New Order as part of their keyboard orchestra in Manchester International Festival.
“I love being a part of different musical projects and am excited to work with fellow Manchester musicians to see what music we can create. I don’t believe there is one way to create music, and I’m always looking for new ways to express myself through the art form.”
