James Holt is an alt-rock artist and multi-instrumentalist (piano, guitar and cello) from Manchester and is receiving attention and praise from music industry giants, such as legendary producer Brian Eno, and the listening public alike. With the craftsmanship and energy of his song writing translating effortlessly to his stage performance, and having performed at the UK’s most prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, this is an artist to watch out for in 2018.
“I´m so excited to be involved in this commemorative project and to work alongside some amazing artists and composers. What drew me to this residency is the ability to reflect and express on how the events of 21 March 1918 impacted the communities and families at home. During my research of the battle one of the men, Bernard Southworth, who sadly died during the battle lived just a few miles from my home in Bolton, giving this project additional poignancy for me.“
