Manchester City Council in association with the Manchester Music City partnership, has commissioned a major study on the Manchester Music Economy from consultants Sound Diplomacy and Nordicity.

Manchester City Council, with Brighter Sound, the British Council, Youth Music and a fora of organisations, and individuals from across Manchester’s music sector, have come together to develop Manchester Music City – a new initiative to support and develop the city’s music ecology. The report provides partners with an in-depth understanding of the city’s music sector to inform future projects and programmes.

The research findings articulate the strengths of Manchester’s live music sector and paints an insightful view of the clusters across Greater Manchester but also highlights where there are opportunities for the city to focus our support for the sector to grow.
