Abbi wrote her first song about Sarajevo as a sensitive 11 year old. Tentative teenage performances followed in her Aunty’s kitchen at family parties, and at open mics in Manchester while she was a student. Abbi formed a psychedelic rock band with her brother called KARM, who played regularly in the seaside skater town of Southport. Last year she moved to Liverpool after passing an audition to work in a pop music exhibition. Abbi now finds herself in the art-pop band Seatbelts and playing solo folk sets as Galileo Girl around the soul-stirring city of Liverpool.
“I wanted to be involved in this residency to be able to create with Gwenno whose music I love, and produce a performance for the city I love. It’ll be most exciting travelling down new sonic pathways in a collaborative environment.”
