Louis Barclay

Louis Barclay is a multi-instrumentalist and community workshop facilitator currently playing in two live bands in Manchester, alongside running his own live jam night in Levenshulme. His facilitation experience stems from running creative workshops for young people around podcasting, live radio editing and broadcasting, music production and lyric writing. His most recent project was upskilling a group of young people aged 19-25 who were out of study or employment to event manage Manchester International Festival’s first “Festival in my Library” in Wythenshawe Forum Library.

“I hope that this opportunity will assist me with my professional development during my ongoing pursuit to become a better music teacher and facilitator and understand as much as possible about the wider context of music education.”

Louis recommends…
1) “Send it On” by D’angelo 2) “Tidal Wave” by Butcher Brown 3) “Lazy Afternoon” by Pete La Roca 4) “Hard Work” by Children of Zeus 5) “Whoa” by Snoh Alegra 6) “Searching” by Roy Ayers 7) “Tezeta” by Mulatu Astatke
