Last month we co-produced From The Crowd, a powerful, inclusive and immersive outdoor performance to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the Peterloo Massacre.
Taking place on Friday 16 August outside Manchester Central, the exact spot that protesters gathered 200 years ago, From the Crowd weaved together eyewitness accounts of those present in 1819 and the words of contemporary protestors and poets.
Created by Evie Manning (Common Wealth) with music composed and directed by Robin Richards (Dutch Uncles), From the Crowd also featured new music written by MC Zani (performed by the Beatbox Collective), Oliver Vibrans and Katie Chatburn.
