Two thirds of award-winning experimental group J Frisco, the founder of an international music collective for women, and a video game musician – just a few of the talented artists we’ve selected to join Shiva Feshareki for the second Both Sides Now artistic residency, which begins on International Women’s Day (8 March).
Following the success of our first residency with Beth Orton in Manchester, we’re excited to bring Both Sides Now – our programme to support, inspire and showcase women in music across the North of England – to Leeds.
Between 8-12 March 15 artists will be working with Shiva, winner of the 2017 British Composer Award for Innovation, over a five-day residency at Leeds College of Music. Together they will explore left-field composition and the interactions between time, space and sound.
“My hope is that I will provide an open environment for the artists who join me on the residency so that we all find new or alternative ways of thinking and new ways of creating. In turn, I hope it will inspire them to use their artistry in a variety of new and game-changing ways in the future.” – Shiva Feshareki
