We’re looking for a Trainee Music Facilitator to work within our Sing City project team.

Sing City is a weekly songwriting project for young musicians aged 13-18, encouraging the development of music skills, collaboration and band skills. It also includes a termly under 18’s live gig night.

This opportunity will offer practical, hands-on experience of music delivery in a workshop setting, shadowing experienced facilitators who are specialists in musically inclusive practice.

Who it’s for

The placement is aimed at musicians with limited or no experience in music facilitation in a workshop setting, who are committed to developing their skills as a creative practitioner.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about nurturing musical, social and personal progression, and unlocking the creativity of young people through music making.

  • Paid, on-the-job training, shadowing experienced Brighter Sound facilitators
  • Includes bespoke training sessions, and requirement to complete reflective diaries and blogs
  • Non-accredited
  • Over 12 months (March 2020 – March 2021)
  • Part of Sing City – part of Brighter Sound’s songwriting project for 13-18’s
  • Weekly on Wednesday evenings
