Meet the 15 drummers and percussionists we’ve selected to take part in our next Both Sides Now residency to create ‘Stealing Sheep’s Suffragette Tribute’ – the suffrage-inspired performance being taken to four UK festivals this year.
As 2018 marks 100 years since some women were able to vote, our next Both Sides Now residency will commemorate this landmark anniversary with a performance led by electro-pop trio Stealing Sheep. ‘Stealing Sheep’s Suffragette Tribute’ will premiere at Liverpool Sound City before embarking on a tour to Festival No.6, End of the Road and Head for the Hills.

The residency will be the first to take place in Liverpool as part of Both Sides Now, our programme to support, inspire and showcase female music creators across the North of England — focusing on Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Newcastle.
Among the lineup of female drummers and percussionists are members of international samba reggae music project Batala, graduates from the Liverpool Institute For Performing Arts and a self-taught drummer whose band previously recorded with legendary record producer and radio presenter John Peel.
