Angela Walker

D.I.Y. to the core, Angela is a self-taught drummer, who, after hiding away for a year learning to play drums with Monkey Steals The Drum – burst onto the Indie Rock Scene and found herself playing in front of John Peel by their 10th gig. They went on to record 2 Peel Sessions (99 & 00), and were included in his Peelenium and Festive 50.

From 2006 onwards, Angela formed The International with friends (ft. Members of Part Chimp & Kling Klang), they later became The Left Hand. Collectives include Bastard Power & Monobrow. Latest projects included Trouble With Books & Pulled Pork.

“I’ve had less time to play drums since having my son 18 months ago, so it will be great to do something big and collaborative like this. The theme is really inspiring and it will give me a chance to reconnect with myself and other women.”
