Darcie is currently studying Fine Art at Aberystwyth University. She would describe her current practice as a combination of both traditional and conceptual techniques, manifesting as a result of sketches, paintings, writings and music. Her work has therapeutic output and often depicts relationships, illness and subjective occurrences.
Her collaborative experiences lie mostly with Brouhaha Carnival and since 2015 she has been an avid maker and volunteers both nationally and internationally. This experience has opened Darcie up to worldly spirit and has birthed her love for drumming and collaboration.
“I am very excited about this project, as it is rare to find such a platform for women to express themselves and define their opinions through musical collaboration. I expect the journey of creating this performance to bring forth emotional gratitude towards the power of women throughout history. It is a part of our duty to respect the past, in order to stand up for our future and have a great amount to be thankful for!”
