Vicky Andrews is a repinique and caixa player with Batala, an international Afro-Brazilian samba-reggae percussion group with over 30 bands in 15 countries and a worldwide membership of over 1,000 drummers. She has played at events including Brazilica Festival, Notting Hill Carnival, Carnaval San Francisco, Carnaval en Guadeloupe and Encontro Grecia. Playing with 100 drummers at the top of Stony Cove Pike in the Lake District was a particular high point of hers. Outside of drumming, Vicky is a club DJ playing ‘indie-trash retro-mash’ and runs her own business as a freelance creative content writer.
