Rioghnach Connelly and Honeyfeet

Honeyfeet have spent the past 10 years tearing around festival stages and theatres, clubs and fields, melting down blues and pop, jazz and disco, pushing air molecules around with instruments and making friends in the process. Jazz? Yes, some of that! Folk? Stick that in there! Hip-hop? I thought you’d never ask! Someone once called it Folk-Hop and Barrelhouse-pop, and that’s just vague enough to make sense. At the centre of the storm is Rioghnach Connolly (Afro Celt Sound System, The Breath, Band of Burns) – an irrepressible stage presence described by the Guardian as “a remarkable singer and flautist who…can ease from Irish traditional influences to soul”.

We’ve worked with various members of Honeyfeet on an individual basis for years. In 2022 the band as a whole led Truth To Tape, a week-long residency for young people to create new tunes, record them in a studio and learn more about the music industry.
